Act on 2021-2022 Employee Health Insurance Renewal Rates
Background:
On March 19, 2021, the District received five bids for Employee Group Health Insurance. In accordance with the Health Insurance Transparency Act (HITA), the bids were opened with one member of the largest bargaining group. On April 20th and April 26th, the District employee insurance committee met and reviewed the bids and discussed the merits of each. Attached is the tabulation of all the bids. By remaining with SCSC, there would be continuity of coverage and the District would also continue to receive wellness dollars and other benefits with SCSC. The South Central Service Cooperative bid projected a 7.50% decrease for 2021-22 with the following monthly rates:
