MAPS Equity Update
Background:
Mankato Area Public Schools is committed to its vision of assuring learning excellence and readiness in a changing world. In order to realize this vision over the last several years, the school district has been intentional in leading with an equity focus. Even during the pandemic challenges of the 2020-2021 school year, MAPS advanced its work at the school, program and district level. For example, MAPS partnered with the Minnesota Educational Equity Partnership to examine historical practices, conduct professional development, and facilitate community visioning sessions. All of these efforts have been done to help develop an equity vision and framework to guide the school district’s work in this area for the foreseeable future.
Tonight’s presentation will review the work that has been completed to date and upcoming events related to the district’s equity work commitment.
