Rescind Policy 811 COVID-19 Face Covering
Background:
School Board Policy 305 states that it is the responsibility of the Superintendent to recommend additions or modifications to School Board policies. Policy 811 COVID-19 Face Covering was adopted on September 8, 2020 to establish requirements for employees, students, and other persons present on school district property to comply with Executive Order 20-81, Executive Order 20-82, and applicable face covering requirements from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education.
Under Executive Order 21-21, the face covering provisions of Executive Order 20-81, Executive Order 20-82, and the Minnesota Department of Education’s Safe Learning Plan do not apply for school districts beyond the 2020-21 school year. The school year for students in District 77 ended on June 4, 2021. Under Executive Order 21-23, individuals must comply with relevant CDC orders, including face covering provisions while on public transportation, such as school buses.
The Policy Review Committee met on June 14, 2021 to review and discuss rescinding Policy 811 COVID-19 Face Covering in response to changes in executive orders and face covering requirements.
