Renewal of Membership in the Minnesota School Boards Association
Background:
The Minnesota School Boards Association is a service organization for Minnesota school districts. The organization is directed by a Board of Directors consisting of local school board members elected from director districts. The Association provides legislative assistance, assistance with negotiations, informational services regarding finance and legal matters, and in-service opportunities for School Board members.
Membership dues for District 77 for 2021-22 are $15,007. This amount is determined by way of a formula based upon the number of students in our District.
Recommended Action:
The administrative team recommends continued membership. Statutes require that election for membership in the MSBA pass by a two-thirds majority vote.
