Approval of Vision Cards

Background:

The strategic roadmap for Mankato Area Public Schools identifies five strategic priorities:
  • Improving learning and development for each student 
  • Strengthening our welcoming, connecting and partnership 
  • Increasing student readiness for life options after graduation 
  • Optimizing our management of all types of resources 
  • Developing our staff’s capacity, skills and accountability 
Over the past year, school district leaders and staff have engaged in a comprehensive review process of the measures used in each of these areas.  A major aspect of the study has been to ensure that the ways success is measured in the system is equitable and inclusive.

At the work session on September 13, School Board members reviewed and discussed Vision Card changes with Cabinet members.  Final edits have been made and are ready for final Board review and approval.
 

Recommended Action:

The administration recommends Board approval of the new Vision Card measures for strategic priorities A-E.
