Approval of Calendar Timeline
Background:
The administration recommends Board approval of the following timeline and process for developing the 2016-17 and 2017-18 school year calendars. The proposed timeline and process is similar to the one used in past years to adopt the school year calendar. Because of legal holidays, State laws relating to the school starting date and student testing, the number of student contact days without students, the development of school calendars which respond to the needs of parents, students, staff and community is very challenging.
