Resolution for Non-Renewal of a Probationary Teacher
Background:
Adopting a resolution proposing to non-renew the employment of a probationary teacher is the formal process to terminate a probationary teacher’s contract at the end of a school year, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 122A.40 subd 5. A non-renewal of a probationary teacher is not a disciplinary action, as defined under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. Therefore, the identity of the teacher and the reason are considered as private data. The necessary resolution and Exhibit A containing private data affected by the Board’s action are enclosed.
Recommended Action:
The Administration recommends that the Board adopt the resolution as presented.
