Approval of Resolution Filling School Board Vacancy By Appointment
Background:
Upon receipt of the resignation letter from Darren Wacker, the Mankato Area School Board began to select his replacement. Because Mr. Wacker’s term was set to expire at the end of 2022, a special election is not required and the individual appointed will serve until the end of December.
Fifteen individuals submitted applications for the open seat, and MAPS School Board members received the applications for their review at the January 10 work session.
At tonight’s meeting, the School Board will nominate from the candidate list and vote.
