Item Type:
Subject:
Approval of Architectural Services for Long Range Facilities Planning
Background:
Requests for proposals for architectural services were collected by Mankato Area Public Schools regarding the long-range facilities planning process that has been ongoing since 2017.
You will recall that last year, Kraus-Anderson was brought on to provide construction management services, and since then, MAPS’ work with Kraus-Anderson has focused on determining priority areas, and the size and scope of a future bond referendum. Last fall, MAPS partnered with School Perceptions to conduct a community-wide survey to raise public awareness of the facilities needs in the school district, and to gauge support for project areas and cost.
Interviews for architectural services were conducted on April 28. Four firms were interviewed by a committee consisting of district leaders and School Board member Christopher Kind. After two finalists were identified by the group, reference and background checks were completed by Director of Facilities and Safety Scott Hogen and Kraus-Anderson Development Director Gary Benson.
At the end of the process, the partnership of ISG and LSE for architectural services is being recommended for your approval. Once approved, Director of Business Services Tom Sager and Scott Hogen will engage with ISG and LSE to develop a contract that will be brought to you for approval at a future meeting.
