Background:

APPOINTMENTS (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
Hezekyah Flowers - Special Education Paraeducator at Franklin Elementary School for 4.75 hours per day/5 days per week beginning February 7, 2023. He will be placed at classification B21.5, step 1, in accordance with the agreement between the District and the Minnesota School Employee Association. In addition, he will be a Non-classroom (Playground) Paraeducator at Franklin Elementary School for 2.25 hours per day/5 days per week beginning February 7, 2023. He will be placed at classification B21, step 1, in accordance with the agreement between the District and the Minnesota School Employee Association.

Hani Nur - Special Education Paraeducator at Hoover Elementary School for 6.25 hours per day/5 days per week beginning February 6, 2023. She will be placed at classification B21, step 3, in accordance with the agreement between the District and the Minnesota School Employee Association. This is in addition to her District Interpreter assignment. 

Mallory Stiff - ACES Site Lead Substitute on an on-call basis beginning January 16, 2023. She will be compensated at the rate of $16.00 per hour. This is in addition to her ACES Student Support Assistant assignment at Hoover Elementary School. 

CONTRACT ADJUSTMENTS (INSTRUCTIONAL)
Kristin Baty - Increase in assignment as Elementary Music Teacher at Bridges Community School and Rosa Parks Elementary School from 0.80 FTEs to 0.933 FTEs beginning August 29, 2022.

REQUESTS FOR SALARY LANE ADVANCEMENT (INSTRUCTIONAL)
In accordance with the terms of the agreement between the Mankato Teachers Association and the District, teachers have submitted their requests for salary lane advancement.  Each of these requests has been reviewed and a list of those qualifying for salary lane advancement for January of the 2022-23 school year is shown below.  The salary lane advancements will be retroactive to January 1, 2023, of the 2022-23 school year. The Administration recommends that the Board approve the salary lane advancements.

CONTRACT ADJUSTMENTS (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
Kelsey Bellig - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Roosevelt Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Lourdes Chavez - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Monroe Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Judy Garness - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Hoover Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Lacey Hagen - Adjust classification placement as Building Secretary at Futures from B21 to B22 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Taylor Homan - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Washington Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Zachary Jakes - Voluntary decrease in assignment as Student Success Coach at Dakota Meadows Middle School from 6.75 hours per day/5 days per week to 4 hours per day/5 days per week beginning January 30, 2023. 

Elizabeth Mitzel - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Rosa Parks Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Jennifer Niles - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Kennedy Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Ella Potter - Change in assignment from Early Learning Special Education Paraeducator for 7 hours per day/4 days per at MAPS Center for Learning to Special Education Paraeducator for 6.25 hours per day/5 days per week at Roosevelt Elementary School beginning February 6, 2023. 

Tammy Rifleman - Adjust classification placement as Absence Management System & Employee ID/Key Card System Manager from B21 to B22 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Laycon Robinson - Voluntary decrease in assignment as Special Education Paraeducator from 6.25 hours per day/5 days per week at Rosa Parks Elementary School to 3 hours per day/5 days per week at Dakota Meadows Middle School beginning February 2, 2023. 

Alyssa Saiquita - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Franklin Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

Sydnie Spitzner - Adjust start date to January 24, 2023, as Non-classroom (Playground) Paraeducator at Rosa Parks Elementary School. 

Deeann Wacker - Adjust classification placement as Clerical Assistant/POS Operator at Eagle Lake Elementary School from A12 to A13 beginning July 1, 2022. She will be compensated according to her placement on the Educational Secretaries Association salary schedule.

REQUESTS FOR LEAVE (ADMINISTRATIVE)
Christina Mattson - Adjust return date to February 13, 2023, for Board-approved leave. 

REQUESTS FOR LEAVE (INSTRUCTIONAL)
Michelle Makela - Extend Board-approved leave, returning to work on February 20, 2023, and continuing intermittent leave through the 2022-23 school year.

REQUESTS FOR LEAVE (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
Patricia Cluka - Early Learning Paraeducator at Kennedy Elementary School, has requested an intermittent leave of absence with a reduced schedule of 3.5 hours per day/4 days per week beginning October 24, 2022, and returning to work on March 1, 2023. She will be eligible to use any fringe benefits. 

Laycon Robinson - Adjust return date to January 31, 2023, for Board-approved leave.

RESIGNATIONS (INSTRUCTIONAL)
Katelyn Trnka - Teacher currently on leave has submitted a resignation, effective at the end of the 2022-23 school year.

Angela Williamson - Science Teacher at East High School, has submitted a resignation for the purpose of retirement. The last day of employment will be June 9, 2023.

RESIGNATIONS (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
Charles Boesen - ACES Child Care Assistant at Hoover Elementary School, has submitted a resignation. The last day of employment will be December 9, 2022. 

Morgan Cockrell - ACES Child Care Assistant Substitute, has submitted a resignation. The last day of employment will be July 26, 2022. 

Natasha Garbers - Child Care Classroom Teacher at Lincoln Logs Learning Center, has submitted a resignation. The last day of employment will be February 9, 2023. 

Yamileth Jimenez - ACES Child Care Assistant at Hoover Elementary School, has submitted a resignation. The last day of employment will be February 17, 2023.

TERMINATIONS (NON-INSTRUCTIONAL)
Anthony Monnens - Correction - Full-time Evening Custodian at Kennedy Elementary School, effective January 20, 2023.
 

Recommended Action:

The Administration recommends the approval of the personnel items.
