Approval of the 2022-2023 Calendar Adjustment
Background:
Due to weather-related cancelations this school year, Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) is getting close to having to make a change to the current school calendar. MAPS administrators and leaders from the Mankato Teachers Association have worked together to identify days that would change from non-student contact days to regular student days if this is needed.
As of February 20, 2023, the MAPS calendar has one day above the state minimum, and no district-wide calendar adjustments need to be made. However, if two more school days are canceled, the school calendar will need to be adjusted to add student days.

- Make adjustments to the calendar only when they are required
- Minimize the disruption for families & staff
- Maximize the school experience
- Honor collective bargaining agreements
Recommended Action:
The administration recommends the Board approve the 2022-2023 calendar change if days need to be added to the calendar.
