Approval of the 2023-24 & 2024-25 Milk Bids

On May 23, 2023, three bids were received for milk for the Food Service Program for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years.  Attached for the School Board's review is a summary of the bids received. It should be noted that while Prairie Farms was not the lowest bidder, they are being considered the lowest responsible bidder. Hastings Creamery, the lowest bidder, was cited for being out of compliance with its industrial water permit and was temporarily cut off from sewer service. At this time it is questionable if the bidder will be able to satisfy the requirements of the contract.

The administration recommends that the school board reject the low bid from Hastings Creamery and approve the bid from the next lowest responsible bidder, Prairie Farms.
