Adoption of Resolution Calling a Special Election
Background:
Mankato Area Public Schools has been engaged in long-range facilities planning since 2017. District leaders have worked with the School Board to identify priorities over the last several years that align to the school district’s vision and mission, and community input has been collected throughout the process.
At work sessions over the last year, the School Board has discussed facility options and the timeline of holding a bond referendum election. In recent months, the School Board has indicated the likelihood of holding an election this fall. At the August 2 work session, members held its final discussion about the size and scope of a referendum to be held on November 7, 2023, and consensus was reached on bringing this forward as an action item tonight.
Recommended Action:
The administration recommends approval of the resolution as presented.
