Approval of Resolution Appointing Election Judges
Background:
To comply with Minnesota Statute 204B.21, Subdivision 2, the School Board must adopt a resolution appointing the election judges.
RESOLUTION RELATING TO APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE NOVEMBER 7, 2023 SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board (the Board) of Independent School District No. 77 (Mankato Area Public Schools), Minnesota (the School District) as follows:
It is hereby found, determined and declared as follows:
RESOLUTION RELATING TO APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE NOVEMBER 7, 2023 SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board (the Board) of Independent School District No. 77 (Mankato Area Public Schools), Minnesota (the School District) as follows:
It is hereby found, determined and declared as follows:
1. A list of persons eligible to be election judges has been compiled by Blue Earth County Elections staff who are qualified to serve as an election judge, and those individuals are hereby appointed as judges of election for the School District’s special election on November 7, 2023.
2. The election judges shall act as clerks of election, count the ballots cast and submit the results to the Board for canvass in the manner provided for other school district elections.
3. Individuals from the list of persons eligible to be election judges, each of whom is qualified to serve as an election judge, are hereby designated to deliver absentee ballots to hospital patients and residents of health care facilities in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Section 203B.11, Subdivision 1 for the School District’s special election on November 7, 2023.
4. The School District Clerk and the Clerk’s designee are hereby authorized to appoint additional election judges, as needed, to fill vacancies that may occur on or before election day.

Recommended Action:
The administration recommends approval of the resolution appointing election judges for the November 7, 2023 election.
