Certification of Updated Population Estimate
Background:
The MN State Demographers office has released the 2024 District Population Data and due to population growth, Mankato Area Public Schools Community Education now qualifies for additional General Community Education Revenue.
The General Community Education Revenue is the fund which operates the department and enables local decision making in meeting unique needs of our community. The Community Volunteer Program is one example of how this funding is utilized at Mankato Area Public Schools.

Recommended Action:
Administration recommends the recertification of census figure of 72,347 be certified to the State Demographer for approval of use in the 2024 payable 2025 revenue calculations.
