Item Type:
Subject:
Approval of Achievement and Integration Plan 2025-28
Background:
The purpose of the Achievement and Integration (A&I) program is to enhance racial and economic integration in schools, boost student academic performance, and reduce disparities among students from diverse backgrounds. This initiative is guided by Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.861.
Mankato Area Public Schools has been eligible since 2018 to receive A&I funding from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), because the percentage of our protected-class students exceeds that of our neighboring adjoining school districts by more than 20 percent.
To participate, eligible districts must develop and submit a comprehensive 3-year A&I plan to MDE that outlines strategies to enhance integration and reduce achievement disparities.
A revised 3-year plan is required by MDE to be approved by the school board to continue to receive A&I funding in the 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 school years.
