Item Type:
Subject:
Approval of 2025-2026 Employee Health Insurance Plan and Renewal Rates
Background:
This action item provides an update on our medical claims experience and outlines necessary premium adjustments to our health insurance for the upcoming 2025-2026 plan year.
Key Considerations:
Key Considerations:
- Positive Trend in Medical Claims: We are pleased to report a significant 24% decrease in medical claims over the past year. This positive trend indicates effective healthcare utilization and cost management.
- Health Premium Increase (2025-2026): Despite the positive claims trend, we are recommending a 7% increase in health insurance premiums for the 2025-2026 plan year. It is important to note that this increase is lower than the regional trend, reflecting our ongoing efforts to manage healthcare costs effectively.
- CDHP 3250 Deductible Adjustment: Due to an IRS mandate governing High Deductible Health Plans, a minor adjustment to the deductible for the CDHP 3250 plan is necessary. The deductible will increase to $3,300 for both self-only and family coverage to maintain our current family coverage structure and comply with federal regulations.
| PLAN | SINGLE | FAMILY |
| Basic + | $1613.60 | $4346.90 |
| $750 CMM | $1297.70 | $3423.30 |
| $3300 CDHP | $1097.50 | $2899.60 |
| $6350 CDHP | $873.60 | $2307.00 |
