2015-16 Superintendent Evaluation

The Board of the Mankato Area Public Schools evaluated Superintendent Sheri Allen during a closed study session held on June 6, 2016. The Minnesota School Boards Association, the professional organization the Board belongs to, provided the evaluation tool used to conduct this evaluation.  Members held a closed session discussion to review the document and provide feedback.

Based on the review and discussion, the following areas of strength were identified:

• Leadership, identified by
  • Moving the district forward
  • Leadership TEAM development
  • Programmatic developments
• The continued goal to move all students forward toward achievement
• Professionalism and quality leadership
• Community support for the district and partnership development  

The following areas were identified for continuing development:

• Cultural responsiveness
• Building capacity in the TEAM

 Superintendent Allen, in this Board’s view, is a highly functioning education leader.  She has developed and maintains a working relationship with area K-12 schools and higher education institutions.  By using the Strategic Roadmap, Dr. Allen builds an emphasis on closing the achievement gap, training staff, building legislative understanding of education needs and community engagement.
