2017-2018 School Year Preliminary Property Tax Certification
Background:
The preliminary levy certification from the Minnesota Department of Education will be provided prior to Board Meeting. The notices of proposed property taxes will be sent to taxpayers in November. The School Board will discuss the levy and budget at the School Board meeting on Tuesday, December 6th, and is scheduled to adopt the final property tax levy at the December 19th meeting.
Recommended Action:
The administration recommends that the School Board take action to certify the maximum levy for taxes payable in 2017 to accommodate any minor adjustments that might occur before the final levy is submitted to the County Auditor by September 30, 2016.
