A study session was held on March 13, 2017, to review the School Board’s Annual Evaluation.  A new evaluation document was developed and aligned with our District Strategic Roadmap. The areas evaluated included District Governance and Policy, Operational Oversight, Board Self-Governance, Superintendent Relations and Public Engagement. Performance based data and alignment to the VisionCards from our District Strategic Roadmap were key indicators as we completed our evaluations individually and collectively as a Board.

During the study session, Dennis Cheesebrow from TeamWorks led us through the results of the evaluation and facilitated our conversation.  Our strengths are governance of the District, policy review and development, utilizing the Minnesota School Board Association (MSBA) for professional development, best practices in governance and compliance, long range planning, fiscal responsibility and a governance response to our day-to-day operations.  Opportunities for improvement include: continuing to listen and hear the multiple perspectives of each School Board member and adhere to internal/external protocols for communication in partnership with the Superintendent and our community.
