2016-17 Superintendent Evaluation
Background:
The Board of the Mankato Area Public Schools evaluated Superintendent Sheri Allen during a closed study session held on April 24, 2017. A new evaluation document was developed and aligned with our District Strategic Roadmap in partnership with TeamWorks, Dennis Cheesebrow. The areas evaluated included Instructional Leadership; Performance Management; Continuous Improvement; Resource Management; Employee, Parent and Community Engagement; Leadership in Public Arena; Board Relations. Members held a closed session discussion to review the document and provide feedback.
Based on the review and discussion, the following areas of strength were identified:
The following areas were identified for continued professional growth:
Superintendent Allen, in this Board’s view, is a highly functioning education leader. She has developed and maintains a working relationship with area E12-Adult, higher education institutions and community. The District Strategic Roadmap guides her work to raise achievement for all.
Based on the review and discussion, the following areas of strength were identified:
- Resource Management
- Instructional Leadership
- Leadership Development
- Employee, Parent and Community Engagement
- Board Relations
The following areas were identified for continued professional growth:
- Strengthen and deepen leadership development
- Collaborate our District work using an equity lens on key issues, decisions, and daily work
- Utilize our Strategic Roadmap to improve VisionCard performance
