BACKGROUND
Staff is seeking authorization from City Council to purchase of hardware and configurations from Computer Solutions for up to $125,000. The purchase of computer hardware and configurations will be covered by the IT budget and will be less than $125,000. Computer Solutions has locked in pricing for the hardware until July 11. The final pricing for the software has not been established by the software company, so Computer Solutions can only provide an estimate. As such staff is seeking approval of up to $125,000.00.
GOAL
To obtain authorization from City Council to spend over $50,000 but not to exceed $125,000 for the purchase of hardware and licensing configurations to support Public Safety.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
To increase computing capacity while reducing the overall footprint, allowing Public Safety to implement new technologies at an accelerated pace with lower costs.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approval of this resolution will allow the purchase of computer hardware and license configurations for Public Safety.
FISCAL IMPACT
The purchase of computer hardware and license configurations will be funded through the IT budget. The funds were approved in the FY 2023-2024 budget.
RECOMMENDATION
Approval of Resolution 24-R-50.
