| Subject: | Resolution 24-R-106 - Approving an Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between the City of Cibolo and the City of Schertz for Dispatch Services (S.Williams/J.Lowery) |
BACKGROUND
This is an amendment to the existing ILA with the City of Cibolo for dispatch services. This will be the fourth amendment to the ILA which was originally executed in 2010 (Resolution10-R-49), and subsequently amended in 2015 (15-R-54), 2016 (16-R-24) and 2019 (19-R-90). This amendment will provide a formula for calculating fees for said services and denotes a process for increases of collected fees.
GOAL
The goal of this resolution is to amend the existing ILA with the City of Cibolo for dispatch services based upon weighted call for service distribution and current weighted salaries of dispatch personnel.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
The benefit to the community is provided by collection of fees in accordance with dispatch service costs associated with the City of Cibolo.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
The ILA between the City of Cibolo and the City of Schertz should be amended to ensure the appropriate fees are being charged for providing dispatch services.
FISCAL IMPACT
Presently, the City of Schertz is collecting a fee of $160,000/YR from the City of Cibolo for providing dispatch services. Fees accordingly will increase to $493,023.20/YR and will be reviewed and adjusted as needed each year.

Approve Resolution R-24-106.
