| Subject: | Information regarding a pending update to the City of Schertz Water and Wastewater Master Plans, Land Use Assumptions, and Capital Improvement Plans that establish the basis for updates to the City's Water and Wastewater Impact Fees. |
BACKGROUND
City Staff and a consultant have been preparing an update to the City's water and wastewater capital recovery fees, or impact fees, in order to appropriately fund construction of new facilities and expand existing facilities to serve future development.
The draft report including updated Land Use Assumptions (LUA), Capital Improvement Plans (CIP), and updated calculated maximum assessable water and wastewater impact fees is attached. The report has been provided and a workshop is scheduled for presentation and discussion of the LUA and CIP to the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee (CIAC) January 8, 2024. A public hearing is planned by the CIAC later in January during which time they will generate comments on the LUA, CIP, and proposed impact fee amounts. Those comments will be provided prior to a public hearing in front of Council. Staff will bring a resolution to Council during an upcoming meeting to set a date for the public hearing and consideration of the updated plans and fees.
For ease of reference, the current schedule of water and wastewater impact fees is also attached.
