BACKGROUND
The EastGroup Properties, LLC owns approximately 80 acres on the east side of FM 3009 near the northern city limits. They want to replat the property but are required to extend sewer services to provide capacity for the development. They are requesting to defer construction of the sewer line from their property to approximately FM 2252 where another developer is about to construct the segment of sewer line from FM 2252 to the Friesenhahn lift station as part of an agreement with the Schertz Economic Development Corporation. The EastGroup is also requesting to be allowed to construct and utilize an onsite septic system until the connection to the sanitary sewer system is made.
GOAL
Provide for the orderly development of infrastructure within the City of Schertz.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
Provide for development of infrastructure in a timely, cost-effective manner.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorization of a Subdivision Improvement Agreement with the EastGroup Properties, LLC for the BNSF Schertz Business Park property to defer construction of the sanitary sewer system and allow use of an onsite septic system during that time.
