With increases in the growing numbers of vehicles and equipment owned by the City of Schertz, the associated costs for maintenance, repair parts and supplies has increased. O’rielly Auto Parts is an approved vendor through the BuyBoard National Purchasing Cooperative and has provided the overall best-value for vehicle and equipment parts and supplies to maintain city owned vehicles and equipment.

This Fiscal Year to date, the City has spent approximately $42,578.34 with O’reilly Auto Parts for vehicle and equipment parts and supplies. For the remainder of the Fiscal Year, the Fleet & Facilities Services Department anticipates additional expenses not to exceed $65,000 for vehicle and equipment parts and supplies to maintain and repair city owned vehicles and equipment.

To obtain authorization from City Council for expenditures with O’reilly Auto Parts for a not to exceed amount of $65,000.

Parts and supplies needed to have well-maintained and reliable vehicles and equipment provides City Departments one of the essential resources to perform work and provide services

Staff recommends Council authorize Staff to purchase vehicle and equipment parts and supplies with a not to exceed amount of $65,000 for Fiscal Year 2018-19

The funding is available and approved in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Budget.   

The Staff is recommending approval of Resolution No. 19-R-82.
