BACKGROUND
Ordinance 08-G-31 provides for annual pay adjustments based on the January Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the South Region. The CPI report for January was released mid-February and stated a CPI change of 7.8%. Per the ordinance, Council's compensation would be increased by that amount.
The ordinance also states Council may decline any increases by notifying the City Manager.The pay change is planned to take effect April 29 and notification of decline should be by April 22, 2022. If no notification of decline is received, the council's pay amount will increase by 7.8%.
