| Subject: | Resolution 24-R-100 - Authorizing a purchase from Musco Sports Lighting, LLC, a Buyboard Purchasing Cooperative Vendor, for the Schertz Soccer Complex Lighting Project. (S. Gonzalez/L. Shrum) |
BACKGROUND
The Schertz Soccer Complex was built with only two lighted fields (#1 and #2.) Conduit was installed for the future wiring at the time of construction on all the fields except Field 12. This project is to run electrical wiring through existing conduits, install new conduit and wire to Field 12, and install MUSCO Light-Structure System with Total Light Control - TLC for LED technology on the additional 10 fields. The project also includes retrofitting the existing metal halide lighting on Fields #1 and #2 to LED for more energy efficient savings, better light control, and consistency in color.
GOAL
The goal is to have all 12 fields lighted at the Schertz Soccer Complex to increase playing time capability at the complex in the evenings.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
The community will benefit from the added field capacity. With more evening time slots available for practices and games, more leagues and city programs can be accommodated, providing more opportunities for residents to enjoy the complex. Additionally, tournament schedules can be more easily accommodated, which has a significant economic impact on the community.
