BACKGROUND
The SSLGC Board has approved a temporary Water Supply Contract between SSLGC and Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation (August 15, 2024) and Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation approved the contract as well (July 23, 2024). The SSLGC has an existing Regional Water Supply Contract with Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation for 840 ac-ft/yr. which expires August 30, 2043. This new temporary Water Supply Contract between SSLGC and Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation shall be effective for a period of five (5) years from the Effective Date for 1250 ac-ft/yr. Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation will pay the same O & M Rate and Water Lease Rate as the Cities of Schertz and Seguin under this new contract, as well as an annual debt service amount of $343,414.
GOAL
To authorize the Temporary Water Supply Contract between the Schertz/Seguin Local Government Corporation (SSLGC) and Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation (SHWSC).
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
The Temporary Water Supply Contract will ensure that the citizens and businesses of Schertz continue to receive excellent and vital water service at a more favorable rate.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution authorizing the Temporary Water Supply Contract between the Schertz/Seguin Local Government Corporation and Springs Hill Water Supply Corporation.
