BACKGROUND
Wendy Swan Memorial Park is located along Cherry Tree Drive in the Northcliffe neighborhood. A concrete drainage channel and retaining wall are located on the western boundary of the park that are in need of replacement due to their poor overall condition. Preliminary analysis recommends replacing the deficient concrete channel with 60-inch and 36-inch underground reinforced concrete pipes. This will be sized to convey the 25-year storm event per City design guidelines.
GOAL
The goal of Resolution 25-R-105 is to authorize an agreement with Unintech Consulting Engineers, Inc. to provide design, bid, and construction-related professional services for the drainage improvements at Wendy Swan Memorial Park.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
The drainage improvements will replace the existing concrete channel with an underground storm sewer line that will improve the site's safety and better convey stormwater runoff. The project supports the strategic objectives of maintaining the City's Park facilities and drainage infrastructure.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION

FISCAL IMPACT
The basic and additional service fee outlined in the agreement totals $102,448. $115,000 is the proposed not to exceed amount for the professional services. Funding will be through the drainage operating funds identified for improvements.
