Following the recent changes in City Council, the Board, Commission, and Committee assignments previously held by the predecessors of Councilmembers Sarah Dietz, Place 6, and Robert Sheridan, III, Place 7 became vacant. Councilmember Dietz was elected to office following the special election to fill Place 6 vacated by Councilmember Allison Heyward, while Councilmember Robert Sheridan was elected to fill the vacancy created by the passing of former Councilmember Tim Brown. During the City Council Workshop held on June 16, 2026, and the City Council Meeting held on July 7, 2026, the Council provided guidance that newly elected or appointed Councilmembers would inherit the Board, Commission, and Committee assignments of the members they succeeded. This direction was subsequently incorporated into the City Council Rules of Conduct and Procedure through Ordinance No. 26-M-029. Accordingly, the assignments previously held by their predecessors will transfer to Councilmembers Dietz and Sheridan in accordance with the adopted Council policy.
