| Subject: | Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees Nominations - Consideration and/or action nominating Board of Trustees candidates for places 1 through 4. (Mayor/Council) |
BACKGROUND
The officials listed on the attached ballot have been nominated to serve a six-year term on the TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool (Workers’ Compensation, Property and Liability) Board of Trustees. Each member city is entitled to vote for only one Board of Trustee Member Candidate for Places 1 through 4.
Staff reached out to surrounding cities inquiring who they would be nominating, and they provided the following information:
City of Universal City
Place 1 – Robert T. Herrera (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Cibolo
Place 2 – John W. (Buzz) Fullen (Incumbent), Mayor, City of Henderson
Place 3 – Jeffrey Snyder (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Plainview
Place 4 – Kimberly Meismer, Executive Director of General Operations, City of Kerrville
City of Selma
Place 1 – Robert T. Herrera (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Cibolo
Place 2 – John W. (Buzz) Fullen (Incumbent), Mayor, City of Henderson
Place 3 – Jeffrey Snyder (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Plainview
Place 4 – Robert S. Hauck (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Tomball

GOAL
To nominate candidates in places 1 through 4 for the TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees.
COMMUNITY BENEFIT
The creation of the TML Risk Pool allows cities to join forces by pooling funds together and managing the risks of worker's compensation as a unified team. The members (cities) of the TML Risk Pool appoint their own Board of Trustees.
SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDED ACTION
To nominate candidates to fill places 1-4 on the TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff makes the following recommendations for Board of Trustee Member Candidate for Place 1 through 4:
Place 1 – Robert T. Herrera (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Cibolo
Place 2 – John W. (Buzz) Fullen (Incumbent), Mayor, City of Henderson
Place 3 – Jeffrey Snyder (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Plainview
Place 4 – Robert S. Hauck (Incumbent), City Manager, City of Tomball
In the motion, the Councilmember will need to state the place and name of the candidate and authorize Mayor Gutierrez to cast the ballot on behalf of Schertz.
