ITEM:
Discussion and possible directions to staff on any and all matters regarding authorization to purchase a new Chevy Silverado for Building Safety Division. (Jose A. Guzman, Acting Planning and Zoning Director)
SUMMARY:
Staff seeks approval for purchase of a new Chevy Silverado for Building Safety Division. Subject truck would be used for field inspections as the current vehicles are more than 10 years old and maintenance is not cost effective. This truck will allow the inspector to carry the appropriate tools.
Planning and Zoning Department is requesting to purchase a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 from Midway Chevrolet for the amount of $31,039.12. Midway Chevrolet is under State Contract ADSPO 12-016669 which will be in accordance with the San Luis City Code-Purchasing Section 36.09, Cooperative Purchasing.
We also contacted Fisher Chevrolet in Yuma, Arizona and the local vendor provided a quote of $32,321.78. The vehicle was approved in the budget for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 in the amount of $34,300.
