ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2037. A resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona for a rumble strip project on Juan Sanchez Boulevard authorizing and directing the entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement between the State of Arizona and City of San Luis and declaring an emergency. (Eulogio Vera, Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
This project will be funded by Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for $318,374.00 as itemized on Exhibit A of the attached draft Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA). The improvements proposed in this IGA include the design, construction, and installation in Juan Sanchez Blvd. from 10th Avenue to Avenue E of:
The City of San Luis will be responsible for project costs that exceed initial estimates.
This measure is to pass as an emergency measure because ADOTs work is lined up for the project and delay could cause cost overruns which the city would be responsible for any other consequences. Emergency resolution becomes effective on the day of passage rather than the usual 30 days.

The project will be fully funded by FHWA funds. In the event that project costs exceed the available FHWA funding, the City will fund the exceeded amount, though it is unlikely.
