Discussion and possible action to donate the old scoreboard for Joe Orduño Park to the Algodoneros de San Luis, Club de Beisbol del Rio Colorado A.C. (Tadeo A. De La Hoya, City Manager)
SUMMARY:
Recently the Parks & Recreation Department replaced the old scoreboard that was located at Joe Orduño Park. Said scoreboard, according to the Parks & Recreation Department, is of no use anymore. Mayor Sanchez met with Mr. Francisco Ochoa Montaño, Baseball Club President and with Mr. Adrian Garcia, North League Director. The organization requested the donation of the old scoreboard.
The purpose of the request is to continue the support into regional baseball leagues that foster binational collaboration and improve sports participation from our communities.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move to approve the donation of the old Joe Orduño Park scoreboard to the Algodoneros de San Luis.

The value to San Luis of goodwill to support sports in the neighboring San Luis Rio Colorado outweighs any scrap value the City could obtain for the old score board.
