ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2048. A resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona declaring the employee benefits plan a public record; approving the employee benefits plan for administration by the San Luis Employee Benefits Trust for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019; and establishing and ratifying an effective date of the plan. SUMMARY:
Background
Consultant Susan Posada negotiated the Employee Benefits Plan for the 2018 - 2019 Fiscal Year. She put out to bid and negotiated a new third-party administrator (EBSO) because Mayo is no longer in the business of third-party administration.
At the May 2018 Budget Meeting of Council, Ms. Posada and EBSO representatives presented a summary of the plan. The presentation included a detailed PowerPoint advising City Council of the benefits proposed plan that will be provided to the employees, the costs involved and historical cost comparisons.
On June 27, 2018, the City Council adopted the final budget. The amount allocated in the final budget for the benefits plan is $2,679,100.00.
Since May, EBSO has been reviewing the entire plan and has only made minor word choice changes and has removed typographical errors.
Recommendation of the Trust and Staff
The final plan went to the San Luis Employees Benefits Trust, and the Trustees adopted the plan.
Staff recommends approval and ratification of the Employee Benefits plan for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 and to make it effective on July 1, 2018 |
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE, RATIFY AND ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2048 MAKING THE BENEFITS PLAN EFFECTIVE ON JULY 1, 2018.

This item is the approval of the 2018-2019 Employee Benefits Plan only. The allocation to the Trust Fund was passed as part of the final budget for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
