Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding a contract with James Davey and Associates, Inc. for construction inspection and administration services for East Mesa Water Lines Project. (Eulogio Vera, Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
In efforts to improve our water system reliability in the east part of San Luis, staff retained James Davey and Associates to design approximately two miles of new water lines. The new water lines will increase pressures and will provide a second supply line to the south part of our water system.
The improvements consist of, but are not limited to, installation of 2,720 linear feet of 10-inch C-900-16 water main and 7,740 linear feet of 12-inch C-900 PVC water main, water valves, fire hydrants, miscellaneous replacement of asphalt, concrete curb, adjustment of survey monuments to finish grade and other work incidental to the project.
James Davey and Associates was the designer of the project. Therefore, staff recommends the approval of a contract for the construction inspection and administration services in the amount of $22,120.00 to them. James Davey and Associates, Inc. is a provider on the on-call engineering services list, per Resolution No. 1143 and was selected after a request for qualifications went out. Under ARS §34-103(B) Engineering Contracts do not require bidding under $500,000.00, and the San Luis City Code-Purchasing §36.08 allows professional services in excess of $15,000.00 without bidding if approved by City Council.

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE INSPECTION AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES CONTRACT WITH JAMES DAVEY AND ASSOCIATES, INC. FOR THE EAST MESA WATER LINES PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,120.00 AS PRESENTED.
