Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding authorization to purchase two (2) evidence drying cabinets for the San Luis Police department using Fiscal Year 2020 Capital Project Budgeted funds. (Richard Jessup, Chief of Police)

SUMMARY:

The San Luis Police Department is seeking approval for the purchase of two new evidence drying cabinets. There is currently one outdated drying cabinet for use at the Police Department. These cabinets are essential for drying evidence from crime scenes. Not having enough room or the proper drying cabinets can lead to potential issues where evidence can not be used when needed for a case.
 
With the budgeted amount, the Police Department will be able to purchase two (2) new drying cabinets. The Police Department obtained four (4), written quotes. The total cost for the lowest quote for the two (2) new cabinets will be $15,773.95, including tax. 

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) EVIDENCE DRYING CABINETS IN THE AMOUNT OF $15,773.95 AS PRESENTED.
