Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the appointment of Council Member Jose Ponce to serve on the Regional Council on Aging - Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council of the Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG). (Francia Alonso, Assistant to Mayor and Council/PIO)

SUMMARY:

The Regional Council on Aging (RCOA) functions as the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. This body advises on areas of program needs and provides leadership, advocacy, and activism on issues that affect the lives of older adults. The Area Agency on Aging promotes the well-being of the population in the years and decades beyond age 60, as well as family caregivers and adults with disabilities. In the home and community, the programs and services enhance the health, independence, and dignity of the aging population.

The City Clerk's Office has been informed that currently there is a vacancy on the Western Arizona Council of Governments Regional Council on Aging (RCOA) - Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. Council Member Jose Ponce has expressed his interest on this board.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPOINT COUNCIL MEMBER JOSE PONCE TO THE REGIONAL COUNCIL ON AGING AS PRESENTED.
