Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding contract with James Davey and Associates, Inc., to provide design and engineering services associated with the improvements on Merrill Avenue. (Jenny Torres, Community Development Director)
SUMMARY:
The City of San Luis intends to apply for $300,000 in Communiity Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the State Special Projects (SSP) account from the Arizona Department of Housing to improve Merrill Avenue. This is a competitive round of funding in which applicants must submit engineering design plans as part of the grant application. We are requesting to award engineering contract in the amount of $22,805 to James Davey and Associates for the design of this project. The City Council is authorized to award this professional service contract under the City Procurement Code Section 36.08 and A.R.S. Sections 34-102.
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE THE CONTRACT WITH JAMES DAVEY AND ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF $22,805.00 FOR ENGINEERING AND DESIGN PLANS TO APPLY FOR CDBG FUNDS FOR THE MERRILL AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AS PRESENTED.
