ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding a contract with James Davey and Associates, Inc. associated with construction administration and inspection services for Rancho Los Oros Improvements.  (Mary French-Jones, Grant Writer)

SUMMARY:

The City of San Luis was awarded a Community Development Block Grant (State Special Projects) funds in the amount of $300,000.00 for Rancho Los Oros Improvements Project (CDBG Agreement No.113-20).  The improvements consist of, but not limited to, removal and replacement of 322 LF of 8-inch diameter sewer main; connection to 11 existing sewer services; installation of 749 LF of 12-inch SDR-35 storm drainpipe, 2 storm drain manholes, 1 concrete inlet headwall structure; replace 4,926 SY of concrete rolled curb and gutter, sidewalk and driveway entrances.  The project will also adjust existing water valves and sewer manholes with new frames and covers, and other work incidental to the project as specified in the contract documents and project plans.  Two (2) roadway sags will be repaired during sewer replacement work.  James Davey and Associates, Inc. designed the improvements for this project.  Staff recommends the approval of a contract agreement with James Davey and Associates, Inc. for construction administration and inspections services in the amount of $36,420.00.  James Davey and Associates, Inc. is a provider on the on-call engineering services list, per Resolution No. 1143.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH JAMES DAVEY AND ASSOCIATES, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $36,420.00 AS PRESENTED.
