SUMMARY:
Ordinance No. 393 was presented and approved at the council meeting on December 23, 2019. This ordinance amended the City Code by amending Chapter 112, “Transportation Business Regulations” to provide for a border area and a system of issuance and regulation for border area vehicle permits to park at taxi stands or wait at taxi waiting stands within said border area; amending the definition for taxicab and renumbering certain sections within Chapter 112.
After passage, it was discovered that Section 112.09(H) referred to subsection "C" rather than the intended subsection (E). Staff desired to make the implementation of the permit process more efficient by putting it on a calendar year schedule rather than twelve-month schedule so that it can be folded in with the business licenses permit schedule. This ordinance makes these improvements.
