ITEM:
Discussion on any and all matters regarding the modification of existing parking restrictions and associated parking meters and signs on Second Avenue and adjacent side streets. (Eulogio Vera, Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
City staff is working on establishing a formal agricultural bus route and is making efforts to improve pedestrian and vehicular traffic flows through our downtown as well as through our City. Business owners along Second Avenue have approached City staff and have requested the City to provide 1-hour or 2-hour parking restriction signs neighboring their businesses. Being a commercial zone we are proposing to comply with that request as well as remove some or all of existing parking meters in this area and allow parking for agricultural workers and incorporate drop off zones for agricultural buses.
