Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Order No. 2020-13. An order of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona declaring the Employee Benefits Plans a public record; approving the Employee Benefits Plans for the fiscal year 2020-2021 for administration by the San Luis Employee Benefits Trust; providing for repeal of conflicting actions of City Council; providing for severability; and establishing an effective date for the plans. The PowerPoint presentation from the Budget Meeting on April 17, 2019 (2020 Renewal Presentation), the Benefit Plan Documents and the 2020 amendments are attached
Background
Consultant and Benefits Broker Susan Posada negotiated the Employee Benefits Plans for the 2020 - 2021 Fiscal Year.
At the April 17, 2020, Budget Meeting of the City Council, Ms. Posada presented a summary of the plans. The presentation included a detailed PowerPoint advising the City Council of the benefits proposed for the employees' benefit plans the costs involved and historical cost comparisons.
The amount allocated in the final budget for the benefits plan is $2,683,400.00
Recommendation of the Trust and Staff
The final plan went to the San Luis Employees Benefits Trust on March 11, 2020, and the Trustees approved plan changes that were presented to City Council on April 17, 2020, at the budget meeting. The benefit plans and the amendments for the 2020 - 2021 fiscal year are attached to this agenda item.
