ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the approval and adoption of Order No. 2021-5.  An order of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona to authorize the City of San Luis Police Department to receive funding for equipment by approving an Intergovernmental Agreement and authorizing execution of Subrecipient Agreement Operation Stonegarden Grant Program Award - REALLOCATION between the State of Arizona through the Arizona Department of Homeland Security and the City of San Luis, Arizona through the San Luis Police Department.  (Richard Jessup, Chief of Police)

SUMMARY:

The City of San Luis Police Department has been awarded $32,010.00 for equipment under the Fiscal Year 2018 Operation Stonegarden Program Award Number 180436-03.  The grant performance period is March 8, 2021 through July 31, 2021.  The total awarded grant funded amount $32,010.00.

Quotes were obtained for the approved equipment that will be purchased using the awarded funds.  The first quote is for the approved Mobile Data Computer Docking Stations, in the amount of $22,826.19, not to exceed $23,010.00.  The second quote is for Stalker Lidar Radars, in the amount of $8,469.47, not to exceed $9,000.00.  The total cost for all items is $31,295.66, not to exceed $32,010.00.

The adoption of this order will support the United States Border Patrol mission by allowing police officers the ability to prevent or stop the egress of drug and undocumented person smuggling, and the nexus to terrorism.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE AND ADOPT ORDER NO. 2021-5 APPROVING THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT AND GRANT AS PRESENTED.
