SUMMARY:
Base Hospital Agreements are required for agencies and their affiliated Certified Emergency Paramedics (CEP), Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician-Qualified (IEMT-Q), Basic Emergency Medical Technician-IV (BEMT-IV) and Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (BEMT) to provide pre-hospital, emergency medical services.
This affiliation provides direct and indirect supervision by Emergency Department Physicians, authorization of Emergency Medical Services personnel to perform medical procedures and their ability and authorization to carry and administer medications.
