Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Order No. 2022-09. An order of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, declaring the Employee Benefits Plans a public record; approving the Employee Benefits Plans for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 for administration by the San Luis Employee Benefits Trust; providing for repeal of conflicting actions of City Council; providing for severability; and establishing an effective date for the plans. SUMMARY:
The PowerPoint presentation from the Budget Retreat on May 14, 2022 (Budget Retreat presentation 2022), the Benefit Plan Documents, and Summary Plan Descriptions are attached.
Background
Consultant and Benefits Broker Susan Posada negotiated the Employee Benefits Plans for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year.
At the May 14, 2022, Budget Meeting of the City Council, Ms. Posada presented a summary of the plans. The presentation included a detailed PowerPoint advising the City Council of the benefits proposed for the employees' benefit plans, the costs involved, and historical cost comparisons.
The amount allocated in the final budget for the benefits plan is $3,074,310.00
Recommendation of the Trust and City Staff
The final plan went to the San Luis Employees Benefits Trust on April 13, 2022, and the Trustees approved plan changes presented to City Council on May 14, 2022, at the budget meeting.
Staff recommends approval of the employee benefits plans to be administered by the San Luis Employee Benefits Trust and city staff for the Fiscal Year 2022 - 2023 with an effective date of July 1, 2022.
