Resolution
ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2235. A resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona amending section HR-4-03(A) of the City of San Luis Personnel Policies relating to holidays, renaming the last Monday in October COVID-19 Pandemic Remembrance Day. (Lizandro Galaviz, Acting City Manager)
SUMMARY:
On May 26, 2021, City Council made the last Monday in October a remembrance holiday to commemorate the COVID-19 pandemic. On July 14, 2021, the holiday was named in honor of Miguel Gonzalez, the city's Chief Wastewater Operator, who passed the July before due to the pandemic. In February this year, the city lost Firefighter Robert Fernandez due to the pandemic. Resolution No. 2235 is in honor of both employees and all the public servants, frontline workers, essential workers, and first responders who selflessly and tirelessly worked through the pandemic in service to the San Luis community.
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 2235.
