Action Requested:
ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2264. A resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, adopting an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation for the 10th Avenue and Los Alamos Street Curve Realignment Construction Project utilizing federal funds; repealing any conflicting provisions; and providing for severability. SUMMARY:
All phases of this project have already been approved for federal funding by the Yuma Metropolitan Planning Organization (YMPO) through its Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), with a local contribution.
The city desires to utilize Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funding for this project. This project consists of a curve realignment at 10th Avenue and Los Alamos Street. The City of San Luis anticipates the total design/construction cost of this project at $1,717,986.00. The project design is estimated to begin during the Fiscal Year 2023, while construction will occur in the Fiscal Year 2024. This project will be bid out and administered by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

FISCAL IMPACT STATEMENT (IF THIS IS A BUDGET TRANSFER, YOU MUST ATTACH THE BUDGET ADJUSTMENT FORM):
The City will be entering into an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) as part of a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) to use federal funding. The City of San Luis anticipates the total design/construction cost of this project at $1,717,986.00. The funding of this project is established at $1,620,210 Federal funds and $97,776 local match payable. In this Fiscal year, the city needs to pay the local match of $18,444. We have budget available to make the match payment due in FY 2023 due to savings in other projects. For FY 2024 we will budget accordingly for the remaining match of $79,222 and the federal funds we will be receiving.
