Public hearing followed by discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 1138. A resolution of the Mayor and Council of City of San Luis, Arizona approving and adopting the City of San Luis Title VI Implementation Plan Relating to Transportation Services. (Christine Hagen, Management Analyst)

SUMMARY:
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended prohibits discrimination based on race, color, and national origin in programs or activities which receive federal financial assistant. Although the City of San Luis has always been compliant with Title VI, this resolution and Implementation Plan will formalize the policy and make it accessible for public viewing as it will be published on the City's website.
In addition, the Title VI written plan will facilitate application for Federal Transit Administration funds provided through the Arizona Department of Transportation for a grant for the Senior Center to obtain badly needed new vehicles for transporting the elderly over 65 and disabled individuals of all ages.
